National Baby Week in Wauseon featured speeches by Dr. E G Cole and Dr. McCampbell on child health, sanitation, and public supervision in schools. The event showcased infant welfare exhibits, lacked visiting nurses, and urged improved dental care and parental education to cut preventable infant deaths.

National Camp Fire Girls Fourth Anniversary Celebration

The National Camp Fire Girls celebrate four years with a plan to send Baby Kits to war devastated Europe. Wauseon group under Mrs G E Howe mailed outfits to Belgian babies with personal letters. Other Wauseon groups led by Miss Bayes and Miss Brown join in the nationwide birthday observance in New York City with a large school setting and baby package shipments.

Ohio Grain Stocks and Local Community Notes 1916

Estimated wheat stocks on Ohio farms March 1 total 12,100,000 bushels with producers paying $1.11 per bushel. Corn stocks 62,400,000 bushels at $0.68 per bushel. Oats 26,900,000 bushels at $0.42 per bushel. The 1915 merchantable quality is 76 percent. Local items cover school library club, story hour, high school lectures, Otrokee Grange, Lyons Universalist sale, and public notices about spelling contests and buggy sales.

Remembered county surveyor Harry Jameson of Wauseon

After a long illness Harry Jameson aged sixty six years and one month passed at his West Elm residence in Wauseon early Saturday. He was a country surveyor noted for long country walks and careful observation. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Reverend Hoffman and Reverend Barker officiating. Masonry rites by Lodge F and A M followed the sermon. Mrs Holmes sang and Jameson was remembered as a loyal and faithful friend.

Memorial for Jameson and his long county service

Jameson, a long-time Fulton County Tribune figure and Wall family familiar, died after a life spent in printing, newspaper work, and community affairs. He mentored others, maintained church ties, and left a widow Julia F. Decker Jameson, with relatives in Cincinnati and Columbus, mourners in Wauseon.
