Summer Union Church Services Begin June 27
The Wauseon Ministerial Association chose a summer plan for interdenominational church services. Local churches will tour from the last Sunday in June through September with young people leading the first half of each meeting while all ages attend together in the latter portion. Rev. H. K. Dunham will preach the opening sermon on Sunday evening June 27.

New Leprosy Treatment Appears Successful
The United States Public Health Service reported a potential cure for leprosy, led by Surgeon General Hugh S. Crimingo. The method uses an ethyl ester of chaulmoogra oil, trialed at the Kalihi Hawaiian leprosy station under Dr. J. T. McDonald. After about a year, 48 treated lepers were paroled in October 1919 and remain disease-free. The program, now limited to the receiving station, aims to extend to Molokai.

Legion Base Ball Beats Jewel 11 to 2 at Legion Park
The American Legion Base Ball team defeated the Jewel team at Legion Park Sunday 11 to 2. Long pitched seven strong innings allowing no runs until late, Baer closed with three strikeouts in the ninth. Errors and timely hits kept Jewel from a shutout. Next Sunday the Legion meets Morenci at Morenci.

Mrs Mary FE Gilson of Freedom Township Henry County died at her home in Wauseon on June 10 1920 aged 61 years 2 months 26 days she leaves husband Frank P Gilson four sons one daughter six grandsons and many relatives. She joined Bethany United Brethren Church at West Barr in 1890s and was noted as a loyal Christian wife and mother. Funeral Monday at home conducted by Rev B G Bowman with interment in Wauseon. Also note bank rate change offering 4 percent on savings after July 1 by First National Bank and Napoleon State Bank.

Five Meet Sudden Death Near Wauseon Tragedy at Rail Crossing
A Wabash passenger train struck a Buick sedan near Harrison crossing south of Wauseon killing four of six occupants instantly. R. H. Moats a Ney banker, his wife, his father Will Moats, and Mrs. Emerson Reynolds died. The boy Vernerd Moats aged 18 was injured. Mrs. Will Moats died later. T. L. Aumend, who drove the preceding car, aided at once. The crash prompted coroner and funeral arrangements. the Moats family had four children.
