Registration day reveals a strong mobilization of American youth as registrars in Ohio City report overwhelming demand and exhausted supplies. Fulton County also reports large enrollments signaling broad civic participation and urgent public response.

Vera Velma Viers Ewart, 22, granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Weir, died May 25 in Minneapolis Kansas after septic endocarditis. Born May 22 1895 in Wauseon Ohio, she grew up in Stockton and Minneapolis, taught school at Sylvan Grove and Lindsey, helped make Lindsey a standard rural school, joined Congregational church, and had wide community esteem. Her life honored by photos, gifts to the library, and church tributes. services were held at the Presbyterian Church with burial in Highland cemetery.
Miss Hl vira Taft and Mr Claire M Lee wed at the Taft home with Rev O P Hoff man officiating. The bride, a Wauseon teacher, and the groom, a Chesterfield native now foreman in Elyria, plan to reside there after a Sunday in Cleveland. Friends extend best wishes for a long married life. A notice follows on Mrs Amanda Belair of Seattle, obituary details, cremation, and upcoming interment in Wauseon. A U S Regular Army recruit detail from the Toledo Station visited Wauseon, with John Fryska and Paul Rich ter considering enlistment after exam.
