Smallpox Measures Dominate Wauseon Council Meeting

At a January 17, 1914 meeting in Wauseon council members faced smallpox concerns amid other local items. The mayor and health officer praised precautions taken since the outbreak, noting four mild cases and that schools remain open while vaccination progress continues.

December Milk and Vaccination Aid in Village Meeting

Fatally Burned Bry an woman dies after gasoline accident

Mrs. Philip D. Christman of Bryan died at four o clock after being burned while attempting to hurry up her laundry pouring gasoline. She was lightly clad and much of her skin was scorched. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nebelung of Wauseon she leaves husband and one son. Burns treated with Hanford's Balsam. Also notes Fulton County Farmers Mutual Insurance and Aid Association meeting postponed to February 18 1914 by Wauseon Board of Health. E L Linden secretary.
