Barney Oldfield Claims Second in Corona Road Race World Record
Former Watsoon man Barney Oldfield driving a Maxwell won second place in the Corona road race after officials corrected a scoring error involving O Donnell. Oldfield set speed marks for the 301 mile course by not stopping at pits, averaging about 55.95 mph.
