Miss Lorence Sower Hosts Delta Sigmas Dinner Party

Miss Lorence Sower gave a dinner party last Friday at her country home north of town for the Delta Sigmas and associates. Rena Sweeny received a telegram from Dan Cupid announcing the engagement of Norma L. Stuempel to Ernest W. Spring of Zanesville, with the wedding planned for Monday evening December 10 at the Stuempel parental home on North Fulton street. Opal Bowman of Denison University came home to attend the event. Frank E. Kenyon was elected C C of Waunseon Lodge No 156 Knights of Pythias along with a slate of officers including Clark Robinson as V C and C E Flory as Prelate.

Fatal Slip Claims Life of Conductor Griffith in New York Central Yards

In Wauseon yards on Monday an incident involving conductor Thomas Griffith of Toledo occurred while uncoupling cars. He fell as the train moved, the wheels severing both legs and breaking both arms. He died about three hours later in Wauseon hospital, leaving a wife and five children. The deceased, a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors, was transported to Toledo by Edgar Von Rennselaer ambulance and the Van Rennselaer Undertaking Co handled the body.

Sudden Death of Wauseon Resident Alfred Andrews

Alfred Andrews a longtime Wauseon resident died suddenly Sunday evening at about 6:30 while on the way to the Princess theater with his wife and neighbors. Paraly sis was given as the cause. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 pm at the United Brethren church. He was 58 and survived by his wife and four children. Two sons had preceded him in death. remaining children lived in Toledo and Gorham township.

Fulton Winners Win Washington Trip for Top Corn Yield

Fulton county honors go to Allen Hetzel of Wauseon and Herman Tappan of Delta for record corn yields and profits, each earning a Washington trip via Pomona Grange. State champ Irvin Wasem of Vermilion county also wins a state trip, with several county winners listed and plans for a December Washington and New York visit.
