A severe windstorm devastates Henry County causing cattle fatalities, destroyed barns, toppled buildings, and damaged homes across Delta, Wauseon, Lyons, and nearby areas. One boy killed, others injured. extensive property losses reported as rescuers survey wreckage and assess damage through Wednesday.
Health officials report growing smallpox cases across Ohio this winter with many counties showing increases since October. Piqua Greenville Darke and Youngstown lead in cases while Avon Lake reports early counts. In poultry news Payette wins blue ribbons for White Plymouth Rocks at Toledo show amid broad show results.
The CHY council met in regular session to approve minutes, award bonds for Commercial Street improvement to Peoples State Bank of Warseon at par, and discuss financing for repairs to City Hall heating. A sanitary sewer on Commercial Street was deemed necessary with plans to be drafted. The fire department funding share and a joint committee report were scheduled for the next meeting.
Tuesday evening November celebration marked the gg anniversary of Mr and Mrs Aaron Smith. About sixty friends gathered at their home for a pot luck supper and music, honoring the couple as the bride and groom were praised for their long marriage.

The Big Event was the Annual Meeting at the Court House. Upcoming Dairy Milk Producers Company plans aim to unite Northwest Ohio dairymen, raise production, curb costs, and advance the dairy industry. Also listed are Farmers Week events, Grange meetings, and Buckeye farmers who yielded 100 bushels per acre, with C. L. Slack posting the highest 128.81 bushels.
George Scott Roos son of G Scott and Ora B Roos was born July 17 1900 in Chesterfield Township Fulton County Ohio. He grew up on the family farm and later moved to Wauseon where he excelled in school and music. He served through concert work for Red Cross during wartime though health prevented enlistment. A devout Christian, he belonged to East Chesterfield Christian and later Wauseon Christian churches. After a long illness he died November 9 1919 at age 19 years 2 months and 22 days. funeral held November 12 at Shoop Ave home with Rev W D Trumbull and Rev C F Evans. He rests in Wauseon cemetery.
