Berkebile Family Reunion Near Fulton County Ohio

Nearly one hundred Berkebile relatives gathered Saturday for a family reunion in Fulton County. A social afternoon featured songs, recitations, and a formal dinner, with officers elected to lead future gatherings and plans set for a Delta Ohio home as the next reunion site. Attendees came from Toledo Pittsburg Conemet a Beaverton and surrounding areas.

Chautauqua Opens With Fine Attendance AndWeather

The big six day Chautauqua opens in Wauseon with about 500 attendees for the Tuesday program led by the Conservatory Players and Dr J T McCrory. The opening parade, favorable weather, and strong interest bode well for a successful season both financially and culturally.

Wauseon Schools Set to Open Monday with New Departments

Wauseon schools announce a September 7 opening introducing domestic science and manual training departments. A full list of teachers is provided for grades and the high school, with notes on summer preparation, sports, and an planned orchestra. The community is urged to visit the schools to see improvements and meet staff.

Golden Wedding Celebration in Wauseon for Alonzo and Sarah Marks

The Marks celebrated the fifty year wedding anniversary at their East Chestnut street home in Wauseon with a pavilion feast for about 150 guests. They married August 28 1864 in Morenci Mich and lived in Fulton county most of their life. Their children Oscar and Frank and five grandchildren attended along with G A R and Relief Corps members. Gifts included gold watch fob, umbrella, chair, electric lamp and china. The couple expressed hope to attend a Diamond wedding in 25 years. A Montana homestead poem and editorial note followed.

Ohio State Grad Held in Russian Army

Ohio State University graduate from the engineering college class of 1913 is being compelled to serve in the Russian army for the Czar after being arrested as a revolutionary years ago. He fled to America after a prison term, worked various jobs, then studied at OSU, completed his degree, and was recaptured in Russia to finish his military service.
