Court House News Warrants Issued In County Distributions

Court records list August distributions to township treasurers led by H H Treadway Roy Eaton and many others with totals including 1 427 00 2 162 48 3 342 at Rosal towns and various townships. Also noted are bridge repairs road projects and court actions including divorces guardianships and probate matters with hearings set for September 1921 and estates transferred to the auditor.

Council Meeting Moves For Underground Cables And Street Work

The council met in regular session with Mayor Oakley presiding. Items included Northwestern Telephone Co seeking to bury cables on Fulton Street, a brace on a pole at Depot and Fulton, relocation of a fire hydrant at Fulton and Commercial, and sewer relief issues on Leggett Street. Night Watchman Grover Bear pledged support from officials, and a regular claim ordinance was passed.

Morenci Wins Wild Baseball comeback over Swanton

Morenci defeated Swanton at Athletic Park Sunday by 6 to 5. Trailing 5 to 1 through several innings Morenci rallied with a three base hit two doubles and a single in one inning to tie the game. A slow ball in the late chase allowed Morenci to score after Swanton’s third baseman mishandled a ball.

Ohio Building Association annual meeting set at Cedar Point

Officials of Fulton County Building Loan and Savings Co of Wauseon plan a three day trip to Cedar Point on August 2 for the Ohio Building Association League annual meeting. Speakers include William Mather Lewis John J Stodard John R Cassady and Don L Tobin. Secretary James A Devine calls the gathering important to address the home financing need and shift investors toward safe institutions.

E R Sanders purchases half interest in D W Myers business forming Myers and Sanders. The firm continues Hinman Milkers distribution in Ohio and Michigan from the Myers location with Sanders moving to Wauseon around September first. Delta Train Kills Six Returning From Camp Meeting

Six people traveling home from a Portage camp meeting were killed when their auto was struck by a Baltimore and Ohio train at a crossing two miles north of Weston. The victims named include George Burditt 81, his wife 35, son Harold 12, Joseph Oberly 75, Opal Oberly, and Mrs. John Miller.

Houses Needed in Fulton County Prompt Broad Effort

Fulton County faces a demand for 680 new homes to properly house all families. The United States Department of Commerce estimates reflect loans from local building and loan institutions, with about 2 million dollars required to meet needs. Difficult Mail Route Letter Exposes 1818 Cleveland Postmaster Grievances

In a Jan 22 1818 Cleveland letter, postmaster Daniel Kelley complains to Postmaster General Meigs that mail carriers are inadequately compensated and punctuality suffers. He notes high costs, swamps to traverse, and promises to lose money unless contracted rates rise. He claims no one else can carry the route for less and describes extensive travel on foot.

Fulton County Fair to Expand with Auto Race Day

The Fulton County Fair will run five days up from four with Saturday dedicated to professional auto racing under the International Motor Contests Association. Seven races planned including a professional sweepstakes, with big sponsors and displays from International Harvester and Ford agents. Morenci reports a fire last Tuesday morning leveled the home of E Reynolds. Loss estimated between 7000 and 7000 dollars, with partial insurance coverage noted.
