Fremont Whigs gain local victory in cross-ticket election
In Fremont Ohio on April 10 1932 the Corporation election produced a mixed result with the Regular Democratic ticket defeated by independents allied with Whigs. The mayoral race saw dissatisfaction among Democrats who backed an independent slate while retaining the Democratic nominee for Recorder. Whigs won the Justice of the Peace race and a large share of town offices went to Democrats overall. The Fremont Band entertained residents with a serenade under local leadership, and a note on the Norwalk and Cleveland Rail Road suggests a new superintendent.
