Proclamation and Military Movements in Utah Territory 1857
A fragmentary report details Brigham Young and Governor Young directing Utah Territory forces to withdraw after a federal proclamation forbidding armed entry. It includes proclamations defending constitutional rights, warnings to Col. Alexander's army, and notes on local military and political tensions amid conflicts with Mormon factions. The document references Oregon's constitutional provisions on church state separation and voting rights, along with military correspondence from Col. Alexander and Gen. Wallachl.
