Notes of travel to Niagara Falls reveal costly folly
A traveler recounts a day at Niagara Falls with his wife and companions, detailing the Goat Island bridge, the American Falls, Turpin Tower, and the Whirlpool experience. He describes guide fees, a Blondin tightrope act, the Clifton House, a paper mill with Horace Greeley stamps, and boisterous souvenir carving on island rails, ending with humorous cautions to fellow travelers.
