Topeka Free State Convention adopts Kansas resolutions
In Topeka on March 10 1857 a Free State delegation set credentials and elected officers. The convention adopted a platform criticizing a Missouri Kansas census act as fraudulent, supporting Topeka Constitution adoption, urging immediate statehood, and condemning territorial laws as usurping rights.
