Rural Carriers Gather for Steuben County Meeting

Rural mail carriers of Steuben County held their annual meeting in Angola on Feb 22 with 15 carriers 3 postmasters and one city carrier. Officers elected were B A Goodrich Ashley president Robert Sutton Angola vice president Wm G Dorwin Fremont secretary treasurer Warren Sprankle Helmer and George Reinoehl Hudson delegates to the state convention at Marion July 2 3 4.

Suffrage Boost At M E Sunday School Meet

At the meeting of the M E Sunday School board on February 22 the ladies were assigned charge of the Sunday School for March, with all officers and teachers being women. The item urges attendance and invites participation and friend bringing. The Straus Brothers Co offers 5 percent loans on productive farm lands for five years with liberal prepayment. Mention of Pythian Sisters meet March 6 to practice for initiation.

Sorosis Notes Meet at President's Home

Sorosis held a pleasant Friday session at Mrs Alma Clark's home. Papers on South America were presented by Mrs Eula Sdp, Alma Clark, Effie and Irene. Ice cream and cake followed. Rev A A Stockdale of Toledo to speak April 25. Next meeting set for the club room with a pot lunch.

Steuben County Farm Bureau to Meet in Angola Court House

The third annual Steuben county farm bureau meeting will be held at the Angola court house on Tuesday March 6 at 1 pm. Prof T A Coleman of Purdue University will attend to assist in planning for the coming year and invite township trustees farmers institute chairmen and other farmers organizations to join efforts for a more efficient profitable agriculture. A plan to publish a monthly farm journal for Steuben county is under consideration.

Birthday celebration honors Henry Hamman and wife

Friends of Mr and Mrs Henry Hamman gathered for a 62nd birthday and 34th wedding anniversary on the evening of the twenty first. The event featured George Washington pictures, a two course supper and a warm, festive mood as Mrs Hamman noted the surprise.

Neighbors Gather for Farewell Party to Worthingtons

About fifty neighbors visited Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Worthington last Saturday evening. Ima Worthington greeted guests as J. Worthington, away earlier, appeared pleased with the surprise. The Worthingtons, moving to Hamilton, received a handsome memento during a warm luncheon and the group sang a farewell hymn.

Parental Law Drill Excites Students At Indiana School

School notes report lively parliamentary law drill with little trial in early morning class. Seventh and eighth graders sell tickets for their March 7 contest at the M E church. Eighth graders anticipate exam day while freshmen and sophomores note absences and recent lessons in physics and composition.
