Special Meeting Approves City Salary Reductions 1870
The Freeport council met May 6 1870 to discuss salaries and crosswalk work. Resolutions cut mayoral pay to 200 annually and alderman pay to 75 per year, with clerks city attorney treasurer and street commissioner adjusted.
