A persistent climber attempts the same ascent repeatedly, succeeding after numerous falls. The effort ends with the climber reaching the top of the smooth old wall, signaling a breakthrough after repeated trials.
A long tale follows a brown horse seeking shelter for the night. He travels with a dog a cat geese and other animals who share a ruined hut as their home. A scheming wizard is frightened by the animals and flees. the animals remain in the hut and invite their several animal companions to live there. The story ends with a rustic cottage described and a note that all the animals now live there contentedly. Nearby lands for sale in Kansas are then advertised with details on prices terms and rail access.
Fragmentary verse repeats asks about love and declares that eyes reveal the speaker's feelings. The speaker urges the beloved to question the stars roses clouds streams and themselves about the love felt, asserting the beloved will see it in the speaker's eyes.
