Christmas echoes from Chicago pockets and courts
From CridAGo Dec 26 1867 a reflective holiday note covers Christmas scenes in Chicago. It cites divorce suits by the Ticknor and Quimby families, a mardi gras demi monde ball with gunfire, booming Steck pianos at Root & Cady, a Farwell Hall fair by Mission schools, and ongoing stage shows at Undine and McVicker’s. The piece closes with festive wishes and a warm river breeze.
