Our druggist reports a lively demand for them, at times being unable to supply the many calls. All Bilious Attacks, Stomach, Liver and Kidney Complaints, Diabetes and Gravely, readily yield to their curative qualities. Sold by Emmert & Burrell, at fifty cents per bottle.
Thirty days of ads note McHenry's Gallery selling photoprints at $1 per dozen and Burrell Bros shipping three tons of green coffee to Northern Illinois. Teas priced low, Novelty Iron Works offers fifty tons of old iron for top cash, and Gan Bros promote "Business Principles." Dr Fenner's Cough Money claims quick relief with sample bottles at 10 cents.
Local ad promotes Burrell Bros offering canned fruits and vegetables by the case at eastern prices. It also touts tobacco products and pipes from D A Marquart two doors south of the Post Office. An herbal lung remedy Dr Marshall's Lung Syrup is advertised as effective for coughs colds and chest diseases. Rice priced at 25 and 50 cents.
A contemporary sales pitch urges readers to buy Shiloh's Cure as a remedy for coughs consumption croup and whooping cough claiming over a million bottles sold last year. It also advertises Shiloh's Porous Plaster for lameness and chest pains with Emmert & Burell as sellers.
An advertisement from Emmert & Burell promotes Shiloh's Vitalizer for dyspepsia and liver issues at 75 cents with a printed guarantee. It also offers Shiloh's Catarrh remedy at 50 cents with a nasal injector, claiming cures for catarrh diphtheria canker mouth and headache and urging readers to seek health and fresh breath.
Advert announces Dr Kina s New Discovery for coughs colds asthma bronchitis hay fever consumption and throat or lung ailments. It boasts over one million bottles used last year with universal satisfaction and promotes a ten cent trial bottle or one dollar regular size, sold by Emmert and Burrell.
In a New York letter dated December 21, 1871 Dr M M Fenner of Fredonia N Y receives high praise for Blood and Liver Remedy Nerve Forte and related tonics claiming broad cure claims after twenty years practice. The note endorses Dr Fenner's improved Cough Tonic Golden Relief St Vitus Dance Specific and lists Kimmert Burrell as sellers.
A salve touted for skin ailments is sold by Emmert & Burrell in Freeport. A letter from Normal, Illinois reports Miss Addie M. Goodrich, ill for six years, rapidly improving after faith based prayer with Miss Gilbert and local supporters, culminating in her first stand and movement in years.
