The copy emphasizes new stock, no shelf worn goods, and urges customers to inspect the large city stock before buying elsewhere as clothing prices trend downward yet high grade lines remain costly.
Frederic Bartlett of Freeport left for Chicago after securing the most important concession since the Mexican Central. The charter envisions a standard gauge line from Chihuahua to a Sonora road spur, with the Pacific coast rail run. Government bounty on the main line is $13,600 silver per mile.
Illinoia forecast calls for fair skies and cooler conditions tonight and Thursday. High northwest winds ease tonight with diminishing strength, followed by cooler daytime temperatures tomorrow as conditions improve.

The ceremony took place at 9:80 AM this morning with many friends present. Miss Sarah Burns, daughter of John Burns, and James O Rourke, son of Mrs Mary O Rourke, were united in marriage. Attendants included Maggie O Neill and Edward Dube. The couple will reside on Iroquois Street after a reception at the bride’s home and a visit to Chicago. Both families praise the couple’s character and prospects.
A special train for Lena departs Freeport at 7:00 PM tomorrow and returns from Lena at 10:30 PM. Round trip fare is 50 cents.
A grand evening program led by conductor J L Carroll and organist Mary Brennan features Gibler's orchestra of twelve. Jubilee Choir with soloists Maggie Carey Susie Ellis Jennie Tracy and more perform overtures choruses and mass settings with intermission. The piano loan for the concert comes from Ed Allington of Stephenson Street.
