Fall sale offers $5.00 all wool men’s suit

The ad promotes a fall sale with strictly all wool men’s suits priced at $5.00. Suits range sizes 84 to 42 and are advertised as new, with a large city stock. It urges customers to inspect goods before buying elsewhere and to ask to see the special $5.00 suit.

Iowa Semi Centennial Parade Disaster

Iowa marks semi centennial statehood as Gov Drake and Vice President Stevenson lead parade. A reviewing stand collapsed injuring Drake Stevenson and others including Ex Governor Sherman and City Clerk Poor. Panic followed as crowd was trampled. 11 am reports limited but condition described as serious.

Tramps Arrested After Freight Car Fight Near Freeport

Police arrested three men found riding a freight train through Dubuque and Saintly city limits last night. One attested to innocence while another, a German national, confessed to being a hitchhiker. Officers returned the trio to Dubuque after city officers arrived and the men claimed they were en route home from a stretch in Iowa.
