Fatal Stolen Ride in Dixon Yards
James Fleming a young farmer from Hast Grove township was fatally mangled by an Illinois Central freight train in Dixon yards while stealing a ride from Amboy with others. As the train neared the station he tried to jump off. his legs were crushed and he died about three hours later at 1 o'clock.
