Weather forecast stars a warm, cold wave pattern

The bulletin projects a complex continental temperature trend from late October through November. Beecham's Pills Promote Health in Women’s Suffering

An old advertisement extols Beecham's Pills as a quick pain relief for female illnesses tied to liver and bowel issues. It claims constipation causes much sickness and promotes health, happiness and long life for 25 cents at drug stores. It also notes 1897 alligator skin harvest in Florida with 214 hunters in Lee De Soto and Hillsboro counties.

Transport Manitoba to be rebuilt as permanent troopship

New York on Oct 29 reports the Manitoba, which carried the Wisconsin boys after a record run from Porto Rico, will be converted into a model permanent troopship with work to start soon. Bids will be invited in a few days. Also noted are local ads for Dr Wood’s Norway Pine Syrup and Miller’s Gloveine sold by Emmert & Burrell.
