The Luetgert murder jury failed to reach a verdict after an 88 hour deadlock. Nine verdicts for conviction and three for acquittal left no chance of agreement, and Judge Tuthill discharged the panel and remanded Luetgert to jail for a new trial. Luetgert’s lawyers plan to seek bail tomorrow.
Special dispatch reports a devastating cyclone in Leyte and Samar, Oct 12. Leyte towns Leyte, Tagloban, Hernanjon and nearby villages are wiped out, with Carigara and Burgo also destroyed. Immense tidal waves engulfed coasts. several thousand natives perish at Tagloban. full extent remains unknown.
The Northern Illinois Dental Association began its tenth annual session in Rooxroro Illinois with eighty seven members present. President Allen of Freeport delivered the afternoon address followed by routine business. Tomorrow features essays discussions and clinics.

Union Stock Yards notes hogs 8 0,000, cattle 8 500, sheep 15 000 with steady demand. Freeport reports wheat bullish then bearish, steady corn, strong foreign markets, and mixed December by crowd.
Milkmen raise price to five cents per quart while an advertisement extols Dr Wood's Norway Pine Syrup as a lung remedy. The piece also mentions the British Board of Trade as a strong force in promoting foreign commerce.
