It credits Lincoln and colonial forebears, stresses patriotism, prudent statesmanship, and peaceable progress, and calls on treaty makers and lawmakers to define responsibilities while praising the army and navy. Mrs McKinley watched from Union League club as a deadly crush formed opposite the reviewing stand. Police lines broke repeatedly, soldiers aided, many dragged into a stand, coats torn, but no lives lost. The president spoke briefly after the danger subsided and the crowd dispersed.

A Walker Minn special reports seven Pillager Indians sought by the U S marshal surrendered at the agency yesterday. Two had been at the agency for some time and two more are jailed in Duluth, captured the day of the battle.
