Montreal woman recalls seven year struggle after a severe leg injury that peeled the limb and left the foot resembling raw flesh. Crutches were needed as doctors considered amputation before a lengthy recovery and cure.
Montreal clairvoyant Mrs Jean Baptiste Renaud describes a twenty five year eczema case on her leg. From Winneshiek reports the Lancaster cosmalae 8.8 convention will be held in Youngs church on October 18, with afternoon and evening sessions. Mrs Isaac Meyers has left for Freeport to stay several weeks with friends. J L Thoman, who visited Nebraska, returned home.

Miss Bessie Runkel returned to Freeport Monday after visiting her parents. Miss Jennie Folgate called in Freeport last Tuesday. Mrs A F Kober and children with Miss Emma Guttmer left Saturday for Chicago friends. Abe Cole and wife of Freeport were guests over Sunday. Mr Ira Shippee left for Springfield for the state fair. Mr and Mrs George Wise of Winslow spent Sunday with Chas Graves family. The Ladies Missionary society will hold an entertainment soon Watch for the date.

Mrs Harry Herlocker of Freeport visited aunt Maria Cromley at Henry Richart home. Wim Clingmen and daughter Mrs Charles Clingman return from Saratoga and Connecticut. John Bruce of Florence visited his sister Mrs M J Adams. O M Hegge and family moved here from Winslow to help Mr Strohm in butcher business. Will Reiniger shot a blue crane six feet wingtip to tail. John G Bruce left for St Paul Minn after time with father Wm Bruce. Miss Mary Kling of Freeport visited grandmother Mary Neidig and Emma Ulrich. Geo Pepperman has new cement walks. Mr and Mrs McKay of Mr Carroll visiting Anna H Adams. John JL Fry departed for Chicago for Northwestern Medical College. Rev G R Newcomb preached farewell at Presbyterian. next Sunday will host a candidate. Mrs James Buxton of Rockford spent Sunday with sister Mrs John Zimmerman. Mrs Susan Strayer spent days in Freeport. Geo Bruce and wife returned to Chicago after vacation with grandparents Wm Bruce. Will Roger of Taylor NC visited A M Bobb on way home from Pennsylvania. Alma Richart and sister Will Angle of Freeport took cousins Fred and Mrs Smith of Tongmont Colo to Chicago. Mrs J W Addams went to Chicago for weeks. A Friday opera house dance pleased attendees, while T August Dwyer delivered a noted address at the M H E church and later spoke at Lena camp meeting with stereopticon Spain views. Several residents traveled to Lena and Galena fair events, with limited attendance due to weather and train schedules. Local visitors include Mr Trenry Woodruff from near Chicago and Nate Collier visiting Winslow friends. Mrs Lonshburg went to Minneapolis. T O Musser attended the National Druggists convention in Chicago last week and anticipated October events.
