A vast crowd gathered in New York and Albany as Chester Allan Arthur was laid to rest at Rural Cemetery near Albany. President Cleveland and others attended the funeral rites, with police securing Lexington Avenue and a church service at Forty seventh Street and Fifth Avenue, where dignitaries and pallbearers filled the seating and many more stood outside to honor the ex President.
