Boston November 22 Hon Charles Francia Adams third son of ex President John Quincy Adams died at 8 30 Sunday morning at his Mount Vernon Street home He was born in Hogpton August 10 1807 Harvard graduate 1825 In 1848 he ran as vice presidential candidate on the Free Soil ticket He served five terms in the Massachusetts legislature and two in Congress In 1861 Lincoln appointed him minister to England He chaired the Alabama arbitration board and in 1876 sought Massachusetts governorship The funeral is set for Quincy Tuesday afternoon The aging wife of Mr Adams survives Their children include John Quincy Adams Charles Francis Adams Henry Adams Brooks Adams and others
