Excitement Flares in Baltimore Over Bryan Victory Claim

Baltimore on November 6 reported a local Bryan group posting a telegram allegedly from Senator Gorman claiming Bryan had 229 electoral votes and was elected. A mob filled Baltimore’s main street shouting for Bryan, fearing a 1876 repeat, until early morning.
