San Luis Obispo, Cal, Nov 4 Special. A Southern Pacific south bound limited derailed into a tour train at Santa Margarita station, fourteen miles north of San Luis Obispo. Nineteen people were injured, several severely and two probably fatally. The list of the injured includes Mrs. M. J. Martin of Ottumwa Iowa Grace and Edward Egan of Clinton, Ta D. C. Mattison Mrs D C Mattison Horace and Grace Mattison and Elsie Blackmore of Ottumwa.
Minneapolis report states Mrs. James Brennan argued with her husband and after he left for work shot and killed her three stepchildren aged 8, 11, and 15 and fatally wounded another aged 13. She then shot herself, sustaining a likely mortal wound.
The comptroller of the currency today removed Bank Examiner R. H. Madders from service for failing to discover conditions at Enterprise National Bank in Allegheny City, Pa. The action was announced in Washington on November 4.

The Illinois Central announces a new timecard effective Sunday November 12 with a Tuesday publication. Rumors say No 2 Omaha Limited will pass through in two sections after the change and that Waterloo and Omaha trains will run independently. Current arrivals from Waterloo come at 6 65 a m and a westbound train from the west at 2 55 p m may shift to 6 0 p m after the new card. The change will affect all divisions and alter south end time service.
The board of education met in the public library rooms for its regular monthly session last evening. Most members attended except Dr. Allen and R K Farwell. President Bergman was absent and Mr Graham was elected president pro tem. Discussion focused on progress of new buildings and speeding completion per contracts. Bills for general expenses and extras for plumbing and heating at the old high school were approved. Christmas vacation was set from Thursday evening December 21 to Wednesday morning January 3. The night school enrollment reached fifty five, with Mr Stoneking added to the teaching staff. The board adjourned to meet again in two weeks on November 17.
The annual inspection train of the Illinois Central Railroad passed through this morning at 3 oclock bound for Dodgeville and Madison. It returned to Freeport at 12 47 pm and left for Minoak Junction, a 111 mile leg to be completed in two hours, with Engineer Shannessy in charge and officers Safford Laden Clift Dailey and Egan aboard.
Chief of Police Sweeney announces that the pavement in the alleys between Stephenson and Galena streets is finished and turned over to the city. He warns business men not to throw waste paper rubble or build bonfires in the alley and says violators will be arrested per streets alleys and bridges committee orders.
