Next Friday night the regular monthly meeting of the board of education will be held. Appointing teachers for the ensuing year at the June meeting may be postponed due to several rooms being unfit and possibly closed next term, risking teacher losses. A member suggests all names be placed in a bag and four drawn to determine who is dropped if needed.

New York reports confirm Walker Whiteside will play the title role in the stage adaptation of Ben Hur by Klaw and Erlanger. Whiteside signed a contract after years of Shakespearean work. he is from Logansport Indiana and is the son of Judge Thomas C. Whiteside.
