More than one hundred veterans of the Fifteenth Illinois Infantry attended the seventeenth annual reunion in Bruvinerr Illinois. Ex congressman R A Childs General George C Rogers Major A V Bohn Judge Amos Holgate and Judge Wood spoke at the banquet. Officers elected were President Major Joseph Devlin Secretary George Q Allen and Treasurer W H Derthick. The regiment voted to continue reunions in Bruvinerr.
Dixon hosts the thirty-eighth annual reunion of the Thirteenth Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Organized May 7, 1861, under Colonel John Wyman, the regiment fought at Pea Ridge Chickasaw Bayou Jackson Vicksburg Lookout Mountain and Mission Ridge. A remnant of the band gathered to extend greetings and renew memories of the Civil War days.
Prizaverran May 25 Rev. W. Jd. Robinson of Allegheny Pennsylvania was elected moderator of the United Presbyterian general assembly. His only competitor was Rev. W. C. Williamson of Keokuk Iowa.
