Caseys Sleuth Catches Swindler Norton in Horse Plot

Captain Robert Casey nabbed William Norton, once in charge of a trotting horse, after Norton posing as Thomas Grant tried to obtain $20 by means of a forged order. Norton was arrested at a wood yard following a pursuit and later pleaded guilty to attempting to pass a forged order, held for the June grand jury under $500 bond. Grant denied knowledge of the deal. Norton previously lived in the city and trained horses for Charles Grant.
