Columbus May 20 The Associated Press reports Dr Henry E Desker chairman of the temperance committee will send back to the bills and overtures committee an overture opposing federation in temperance and urging strong support for the anti saloon league.
An infernal machine exploded at Odessa central police bureau injuring several and killing the superintendent of police and two chief detectives. Two men were wounded and captured, a girl escaped. The leader is named Tchertkoff. a terrorist organization is suspected.
Chicago May 20 Judge Landis today fined EF, a Holbrook, the American Seating company and the A H Andrews company 5000 dollars each and nine other furniture companies from 500 to 2000 dollars for violating anti trust laws by forming a conspiracy in restraint of trade.
Chicago Mayor Busse removes eight school board members who refused to resign. The action aims to ensure the retention of E. G. Cooley as superintendent of schools.

A wealthy farmer from near Nora drove into Freewort on Sunday with his team. He struggled navigating the maze like streets and backed into sidewalks vehicles and trees. Police detained him and fined seven dollars before he found his way home this morning.
