Jerome cross examined Thaw in executive session as Dr Allen McLane Hamilton is called for testimony but not allowed to speak. Dr Jackson R Campbell later testified.
Charles P. Taft, proprietor of the Cincinnati Times-Star, issued a statement on behalf of Secretary of War Taft. He says Foraker is pursuing both presidency and senatorship, and Taft’s friends expect a distinct contest between Taft and Foraker for those offices. The reply frames the dispute as a clash between Roosevelt administration friends and opponents, urging Republican voters to decide soon.
Leonard Leopold, a defendant in the Margaret Leslie murder trial, fainted on the stand again and collapsed from the witness chair. Proceedings were postponed to await his condition improved. Leopold earlier fainted yesterday afternoon after a sudden rush from the stand.
