Manma March 24 reports McArthur's division with Wheaton's brigade piercing rebel lines at daylight. They captured four towns and secured the railroad, isolating Aguinaldo's forces at Mala bon and Singalon. New York March 25 The military court of inquiry on General Miles beef charges resumed with Governor Roosevelt testifying about canned beef on the Cuba march. He said cans showed slime, meat stringy and unfit for rations though refrigerated meat was generally good. He noted no preservatives were used and illness may have stemmed from poor health and cooking with vegetables. The session adjourned to Governors Island.
The will disposes of 2,000,000 in bonds and realty plus 2,500,000 in Tribune Publishing stock. The stock remains intact to pass to Medill’s grandchildren. Numerous institutions receive bequests as part of the estate plan.
