Wheeling West Virginia March 18. Special dispatch reports a fire at the Warwick Pottery Works flooded district. J Hightersons are known to have died in the blaze and the plant’s employees escaped by leaping into floodwaters. Nine Syrians remain unaccounted for and are believed drowned. most victims were Syrians.
An explosion of firedamp in Kleinroga mine last night killed sixty-five miners and injured twelve. In Saar Louis Rheinish Prussia this morning twenty-two miners died at Gerhard mine when a cable broke as they descended in a cage.

San Salvador reports that General Barabosa, Honduras war minister, has defeated 3,000 Honduras revolutionary troops led by General Dianeco Gutierrez over three days of combat. Generals Gutierrez Balladeras and Gameere were killed.
President Mellen of the New York New Haven Hartford railroad telegraphed the White House seeking an interview. He plans to arrive next Tuesday for talks with the president in Washington on March 16 Special dispatch.

Mrs. Mary Jane McKibben, age 86, died at 222 Union Street after a long illness. A charter member of the Second Presbyterian Church, she and her husband settled near Freeport after traveling from Clinton County, Pennsylvania, in 1845. Surviving are her husband and eight children, with funeral services slated for Monday. a long life rooted in pioneer days and family devotion.
