A powerful gale from the southwest struck Oxtanoma for about half an hour early today. Rain poured in sheets as nearly a hundred houses were blown down. Total damage is estimated at $50,000 with no loss of life reported.

At the annual meeting held Friday in the church parlors, officers for the coming year were elected. Mrs. Spencer is to remain president until leaving the city. Mrs. A. W. Ford becomes vice president and Mrs. Frank Winger is secretary and treasurer. Division chairmen named include Mrs. George B. Turneaure, Mrs. A C Crawford, Mrs. John Hineline, Mrs. Homer Schofield, Mrs. A. W. Ford, Mrs. Frank Winger and Mrs. Flowe.
John Hirtman died this morning at 5 o'clock of old age at his home 489 Empire Street. Born in Detmold Germany he lived here fifty four years. His wife died about two years ago. He had been blind for twelve years. Funeral at 2 pm Monday from his home with Rev Holke officiating. A break in at the St Paul yards near the transfer bridge last night saw five pairs of shoes stolen from a merchandise car.
