A reader reports using one cake of Cuticura Soap and one box of Cuticura Ointment to cure eczema on the head. She notes continued use of the soap, says her sister was cured, and adds another sister found Cuticura Resolvent and Pills a fine tonic. Edith Hammer Morrison Illinois October 3, 1906.
The Hague June 14 The second International Peace Conference opened with forty six nations represented in Knights hall. United States delegates led by Joseph H Choate outlined plans including armament limits and debt collection. Other nations discussed arbitration rules laws of war and maritime conduct with debates over permanent conference status.
On Wednesday July 10 the Eldorado district east of Orangeville marks 50 years since its first teacher. Dr F W Byers now of Monroe will be honored among several speakers including Rev B Holloway of Da kota Superintendent Grove S T Pollock of Rice Lake Wis and C A Cadwell of Freeport Invitations go to all past and present teachers and attendees over the last fifty years. Seventy one teachers have served in the district. The gathering is expected to be large and enthusiastic.

Admiral Sir Edward Fremantle, born in London on June 14, 1841, joined the British navy at twelve and rose to rear-admiral. He served globally, earned parliamentary thanks, and received royal honors. His career included actions in the Burmese war, New Zealand conflicts, Ashanti campaigns, the East African blockade, and the Vitu punitive expedition. He commanded British naval forces in the East Indies.

Wood will address attendees. Amity Lutheran church will host Rev. Thrall of Freeport for morning and evening services. High School Alumni banquet held with about sixty attendees. Mrs. Kate Albee surprised by Methodist church members with gifts and a fine dinner. Mrs. Albee plans to leave for housekeeping Monday then west. Mrs. E J Collins and children depart for Sterling for a week. Mrs. G Rayhorn and Mrs. Geo Van Epps visiting friends. I C Buss relatives visited then returned to Chicago. S A Maxwell of Morrison spent the week assisting A A Krape and returned home.
Waterloo Times-Tribune reports grief over western rail cost cuts. Clipper train west of the city is erased from the schedule after over twenty years as the best paying run. East end local between Dubuane and Freeport ends, while No 4 now stops locally between the two cities, lengthening its schedule and reducing appeal between Iowa and Chicago.
