Union stock yards items show cattle 24,000 steady to 10 higher, beeves 4.50 to 6.65, stockers feeders 3.00 to 5.20, hogs 43,000 weak 6 lower, light 86.15 to 63.65, mixed butchers 16.10 to 6.35, heavy 5.90 to 6.30, sheep 15,000 strong 4.25 to 6.50.
Mrs Mary Clara Stover wife of prominent Freeport manufacturer K C Stover died suddenly after a minor cough and breathing difficulty at their 214 Stephenson street home Heart trouble is the listed cause. She actively supported First Baptist church Ladies Aid and Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary societies and the Freeport Woman's club. Survived by husband son and daughter. funeral arrangements to be announced.
The Y M C A reports June pledges due and debt reduced to 3700 with unpaid pledges covering the full amount. A mass meeting next Sunday may burn the mortgage as committees plan the year. The B S C was addressed by C S Barrett on Boys Responsibility and next Sunday will feature stereopticon talks.
A series of land deeds shows Charles L Hermann transferring to Thomas Lincoln in section 17 Rock Run township for 1000 dollars. John Lehmann sells lot 4 block 2 Stover's addition for 1900 dollars. D A Beamer transfers parts of sections land 12 in Florence township for 12640 dollars. C M Hillebrand sells parts of sections 1 and 12 Florence township for 17600 dollars. Edwin H Herbert transfers to the Catholic bishop of Chicago a part of section 5 Silver Creek township for 1600 dollars, adjoining the German Catholic cemetery. John A Bardell sells part lot 3 block 81 Freeport for 125 dollars.
A new moving picture theater opened Saturday in the building formerly occupied by A. W. Ford & Son’s jewelry store. Large crowds attended as everything is new and up-to-date. Managers Graham and Guiteau say pictures and songs will be changed every other day.
The Kryder reunion will be held on the Jacob Kryder farm one and a half miles south of Dakota on Thursday June 20. Music and exercises will be carried out. Wm Kryder of Cedarville is president and Sarah Kryder of Dakota is secretary. All Kryder relatives are invited to attend and enjoy the day.
Miss Etta Emrich and Edward Kerlin will be married at noon tomorrow at St. Josephs church parsonage. Rev Fr C Whalvelage will perform the ceremony followed by a banquet at the bridegrooms Adams street home and an extended wedding trip in the evening.
Old Resident Nellie Kennedy left for Rock Rapids Iowa last evening after a telegram saying her father Richard Barron was sinking rapidly. Mr Barron formerly lived in the county and has many relatives here. He is over eighty years old.
Mr and Mrs T Best announce their son Dr Charles L Best has landed in Philadelphia and is feeling first rate after an uneventful ocean voyage. He will return home sometime this week. The voyage was smooth and pleasant.
Hundreds visit Highland park on a sunny Sunday as the friendly weather boosts turnout. Manager Youngs runs the park in first class shape and his efforts are expected to be liberally rewarded.
Freeport lodge No 462 Knights of Pythias will assemble in their castle hall this evening for the election of officers all knights are invited to attend.

An entertainment and basket social will be held at Currier school on Wednesday evening with an ad mission note. Ladies are asked to bring baskets. The local Christian Woman's Board of Missions auxiliary will meet at Mrs. A Stoller’s home 25 Powell Street at 3 PM. Leaders are Mrs H J Johnson and Mrs E H Smith. The study topic is Mormonism.
Samuel Lebkicker has been quite ill for a week and remains so today. The report notes no change in his condition.
William H. Shons and Homer Shows pled guilty to charges in the March indictment and paid fines totaling 5 900 with Shons releasing 600 tied to bridge work. A. B. Winnegar also pleaded guilty and was fined 8500. McDonald expected to plead next court day. Grand Jury foreman L. M. Swanzey. other jurors listed by town. W. A. McGilvray to stand trial in June term for a worthless check case.
Several thousand physicians and surgeons from across the United States and distinguished foreign medical men gathered in Atlantic City for the fifty-eighth annual American Medical Association convention and related medical meetings. The opening sessions planned tight schedules and a high interest in tuberculosis treatment and prevention programs. The AMA house of delegates met to set agenda and finalize arrangements for the weeklong events.
The Potorf school closed last Tuesday for its annual picnic. A large crowd attended and enjoyed a program. Miss Anna Schmertman teaches at the Potorf school.
