Frank Heisler driving one of the Bus Barn hacks left Milwaukee depot when a bit broke and the team started to run. The bridles had over check bits, allowing Heisler to stop the team quickly and the occupants did not realize they were in a runaway.

Mrs Mary Duffy aged over eighty died at her home 181 West street at 1 this morning after a bronchial illness. Born in County Sligo Ireland May 16 1824 she came to the U S in 1840 and lived in Poughkeepsie New York before moving to this county in 1867 and New Dublin. She was married to Bernard Duffy who died twenty years ago and leaves four daughters Mrs M Clark Detroit Mich Mrs C Taylor Freeport Mrs Frank Sullivan Miss Mary Duffy James and John Duffy Chicago and Thomas Nebraska plus one sister Mrs Coffey Davenport Pa all to attend the funeral. Funeral from the West street home Saturday at 9 30 am to St Marys church Rev Fr Croke will officiate and interment at St Marys cemetery. Pallbearers: Richard Sheridan Bernard Coyle James Darrah James Ryan Michael Vail James Grace. funeral in charge of James McGetrick.
The remains of the six months old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Hoffman arrived from Madison Wisconsin and were taken to the home of the Hoffmans parents at the corner of Stephens street and Saxby avenue. The funeral was held at 130 PM with Rev E E McKay officiating. The child had fallen ill with spinal meningitis a few days earlier and died yesterday noon.
The funeral for the late Mrs Barr will be tomorrow afternoon at 2 o clock from the South street home. Rev L C Schmidt of Trinity church will officiate with interment at City cemetery. Pallbearers include Everett Spitler Benjamin Spitler G W Allington E D Allington Jr B F Spitler FE D Allington Sr. Mrs P V Snow, a daughter living in Fort Worth, Texas, will arrive this evening to attend.
Passenger train No 14 of the Chicago Great Western wrecked in German Valley while entering the village. The engine and express car crossed a switch, but two coaches derailed onto the side track, tearing up rails for 300 feet. Despite confusion, all passengers stayed in seats and no injuries occurred. Five freight trains and two through passenger trains were delayed for hours.
