John Roach a famed American iron shipbuilder died Monday morning at So'clock after a prolonged throat cancer. Born in Ireland, he built a global reputation from a four-man shop to Chester and New York operations, earning the title father of American iron shipbuilding. his death follows years of financial strain and the loss of the Dolphin contract.

A passenger train of seventy five aboard derailed three miles from Inptanaronis Indiana after a broken rail on a Monday night. About twenty five people were aboard, most injured though none killed. Wrecking train removed the injured to city for medical care. several named injured include J. Allen of Lyons with a broken leg and head bruises and J. Quackeulough of Bhioridan with unspecified injuries.
