Investigation Continues In Oil Company Fire Probe
Testimony links Standard Oil workers to burning of books and records. Wm Moran, a car repairer, testified that on November 19 he and four men moved sixteen boxes of books weighing about 200 pounds from the car shops to the general office, then to the warehouse. The next Monday he and another man moved boxes to the river pump house and burned their contents, unaware if they matched Saturday’s boxes. Moran noted knowledge of prior burns but said no one spoke of secrecy.
