The Associated Press notes Illinois will see partly cloudy skies with possible showers Sunday and tonight. Warmer conditions expected Sunday and tonight north and south. Town forecast shows increasing cloudiness with likely rain or snow tonight or Sunday and warmer Sunday with northwest winds. Sunrise 7:28 p.m. and sunset 4:32 p.m.
AP dispatch from Springfield reports Johnson Hatcher department store and J L Jones furniture destroyed by fire. Loss estimated at 140000 with fears two lives lost at Johnston store. In Detroit a six story brick building at Jefferson and Woodward housed Edwin S George fur dealer and D E Kellogg wholesale dealer burned. Loss another 140000. Assistant Fire Chief Kelley and firefighter Robert Hummell seriously injured, possibly fatal.
Associated Press reports three hundred fifty bodies recovered from Monongah mines after the December six disaster. Jacobs Creek records no new bodies in the Darr mines by noon, total twelve. At Audenreid a large water entry trapped or endangered more than 150 miners, with some still unaccounted for.
General Frederick Funston returned from Goldfield where he investigated the clash between the Goldfield Mine Owners' association and the Western Federation of Miners. He warned the situation is delicate and does not expect trouble unless owners import non union workers.
New York reports that Robert Caldwell, an American witness in the Cruce case at London, was arrested at Hoboken New Jersey today upon the Kaiserin Auguste Victoria’s arrival from overseas.
Ed Brown, a Freeport resident since last August, was acquitted of robbing Bear Brothers saloon last September after a lengthy trial. The jury, out nearly two and a half hours over eight ballots, found him not guilty. Also in circuit court Jackson and Jones, two colored men, faced trial for stealing trousers from clothing stores. Jackson pled guilty while Jones fought to shift blame. LeRoy Wilkins paid a $286 fine for selling intoxicating drinks without a license.
Indianapolis Dec 21 The condition of John Mitchell remains about the same as yesterday.
Walter McAuley formerly of this city now in DeKalb county paid 980 and costs this morning for assaulting Chief of Police Silk at the station last evening. He ailed a drunken spree after quarrel with his wife and daughter, then struck the chief, injuring his mouth and lip.

At Friday’s meeting of the Center County Picnic association a picnic was scheduled for June 25. A committee of Cyrus Grove William Dunlap J S Snyder and J S Walker will pick the site selecting Forest and Highland parks as options and report at the next meeting. Officers for the year will be elected and future dates decided. Most townships already have vice presidents, and the association is growing quickly.
In Des Moines on December 21 Mrs James Scofield was killed when a Great Western train backed into a buggy carrying three women. Miss Louise French was reported to be dying and Miss Walters seriously injured as a result of the crash.
James Ward of Pearl City pleaded guilty to selling intoxicating liquors without a license. He was fined $286 plus costs and paid the amount.
Mrs Gepke Julius is granted a divorce from Mello Julius on cruelty grounds. The couple has resided in Silver Creek township for two years with Mr Manus serving as interpreter for non English speaking witnesses.
The McDaniel case is reset for next Tuesday after delays caused by the Elgin case. A continuance is expected to be granted, with trial postponed to the March or June term.
The Flagship Connecticut reports by wireless from Dec 21 at 1:20 a m that the fleet has entered the trade winds and the sea is choppy. They expect to reach Virgin Passage tonight.
Edward Price of New York, the first husband of actress Fanny Davenport, died last night in Omaha from pneumonia.
William Garland, son of former Attorney General Garland, killed himself in Little Reek on December 21, as reported by the Associated Press. The death is ruled a deliberate act. Authorities investigated the incident and prepared a preliminary report for the morgue.
Washington reports that after a twenty minute session today the house adjourned until January sixth.
Rottineau December 21. The Nunseith State bank closed its doors yesterday for want of cash.

Modern Brotherhood of America officers were elected Friday evening with C. W. Johnson as President Charles Wagner as Vice President Dr. W. T. Best as Secretary and Treasurer R. Pinder as Conductor WN Shaver as Chaplain George Workinger as Watchman and A. Wise as Sentry The installation is set for the first Friday in January.
Miss Mamie Steffenus and George S Handlin of Syracuse New York were married this morning by Judge Heard.
