Kokomo Indiana December 10 Mayor Walter Scott Armstrong after a day husking corn hauls a pumpkin load into town and distributes it to residents. He rides through streets letting everyone help themselves and will continue as long as pumpkins last.
In Washington on December 9 silver backers fear Representative Sibley of Pennsylvania may abandon free silver. His Newland dinner remarks implied gold production is sidelining silver, signaling a shift in the money question. Sibley is noted as Freeport's electric streetcar president and cousin of W. H. Sibley.
