Mr and Mrs J G Bennett and Mr and Mrs H F Miller visited the Bennetts Sunday.

G W Wolf and T B Nelson were among the sick last week. Joe Snook hosted twenty friends with a friendly surprise last Thursday evening. Baltzer of Orangeville visits KE Baltzer and family. George and Charles Hofmeister of Lenox South Dakota visited Walter Vehmeter today.
Winslow Illinois residents made multiple trips to Freeport for shopping and visits on Thursday and Friday. Travelers included Leatrice Beck Laura Thorpe and Mrs. Nels Sweeley with others heading to Chicago Dixon and Muskogee Oklahoma. Local residents Visited Des Moines and Harlem while reporting sales and business calls in Freeport Rockford and Dixon.
German Valley reports various community updates including Mrs. Groenewald’s hospital return, new concrete bridge work under the railroad, relatives visiting from Freeport Chicago Shannon and Goshen Ind trips, rheumatism cases and sick lists, Dorcas society meeting, and multiple visits among residents. Mrs C G Simoyer Buena Vista and Mrs Chas Bolener Picenoa called on friends. Mr and Mrs Charles Cole moved into the Dr Blair house. Mrs Luther Shippy and daughter Edyth, and Wm Runkle left for Dixon to visit relatives and attend Rock River assembly. Mrs O J Gellette taken to St Francis hospital for operation. Mamie Price and daughter Louise with Lotta Bechtold visited Edyth Gerber. Rose Himes of Freeport visited W J Wachlin and family. John Gordon of Winslow was in town.
Sealed bids for constructing a new City Hall on the site of the old Lena Village Hall in Stephenson County Illinois must be received by the Village President and Board of Trustees by 1:30 p.m. on August 10 1907. Plans by G W Graham Civil Engineer are on file with the Village Clerk. Bids require a 10 percent bid bond, must be addressed to the President and Board, and may be seen at G W Grahams office in Freeport Illinois or the Village Clerk in Lena. The village reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
