Fort Meigs Celebration Draws 30,000 to Fort Meigs Site
The Fort Meigs celebration in Perrysburg attracts thousands from Ohio Michigan and Indiana to honor General Harrison. Delegations arrive by river and land as he is greeted with 17 gun salutes and a grand convention. Speakers include Gen Harrison and Gov. Ewing while a 19th century crowd sings Tippecanoe tunes and commemorates military deeds.
