Gov Seward Attends Ceremonies for Auburn Syracuse Rail Road
The President and key officials attended a ceremony with Gov. Seward present. Rail service began on the Alb. Gas Auburn and Syracuse line with a 26 mile segment completed in 1 hour 9 minutes. A large Syracuse Auburn citizen dinner followed at Syracuse House. The refitted Albany boat Evening Journal measures 379 feet.
