Many Troops Recalled From Pottsville Command
Major General Miter issued a Wednesday night order from Pottsville recalling thirty one more companies of the state troops leaving only six regiments and four cavalry troops in the anthracite fields. The Fourth and Tenth Infantry are recalled along with five Eighth Infantry companies and the last battalions of the Second and Third regiments. The Ninth regiment near Wilkesbarre broke camp today. Hazleton Company G with Freeland youths returns home tonight. Second Philadelphia City Cavalry ordered from Wilkesbarre to Audenried under General Schall.
