Borough of Freeland amends section 7 of the old ordinance to levy 300 dollars per year for all street railway cars operating on public highways. Stabbing at saloon sparks dispute in Butler valley
Steve Maltas is in borough lockup after stabbing George Kovan at William Wilkeson saloon in Butler valley during a quarrel sparked by a strike discussion. Maltas claims Tom Aleck provoked with stones. Kovan injured near the temple and later sent home in Upper Lehigh. Maltas to appear before Squire Advices at 7 pm.

Sent to Jail This Morning Involving Assault Case
Andrew Paznak of North Ridge Street was arrested by Constable Fureg after a warrant by Mrs. Paul Panovich. Paznak faced charges of assault and battery for beating Panovich with a boot jack, injuring her eye and lip, and later beating a child with a club. He was captured this morning and jailed in Wilkesbarre after a 6 o’clock hearing. The case was prosecuted by R. J. O'Donnell.
