Amusing Fern Street Cow and Calf Rampage Ends in Escape
A foreign-born resident and onlookers tried to coax a cow into a Fern street stable by tying a clothes line to the cow’s tail and the heifer. The animal resisted, the cow broke free dragging the calf, and a rope broke near a brewery’s rear trees releasing the exhausted calf. A prominent town man aided in the chaotic scene as the chase continued.
